Travel by subway to Downtown Rio and begin your walking tour at Cinelândia, one of the city’s most important historic squares. Here, you’ll see landmarks influenced by European architecture, including the Municipal Theatre, the National Library, and the National Museum of Fine Arts.

Continue through the historic center while learning about Rio’s political, cultural, and architectural development. Along the way, you’ll see buildings such as Pedro Ernesto Palace, the Cultural Center of the Federal Justice, the Naval Club, Santo Antônio Monastery, and the Ordem Terceira de São Francisco da Penitência.

The tour also includes a stop at the famous Confeitaria Colombo, founded in 1894 and known for its elegant Belle Époque interior. From there, continue toward Praça XV, passing historic landmarks such as Tiradentes Palace, the Paço Imperial, Mestre Valentim Fountain, and the charming Arco do Teles.

Walk through the cobblestone streets of Travessa do Comércio and discover more of Rio’s historic center, including the Church of Our Lady of the Merchants, the France-Brazil House, the Banco do Brasil Cultural Center, and Candelária Church.

At the end of the tour, you’ll return to your hotel by subway.
