After hotel pickup, continue your Rio de Janeiro city tour with a panoramic visit to Maracanã Stadium, one of the most famous football stadiums in the world. There will be a photo stop near the Bellini statue before continuing to the Sambadrome, the purpose-built venue where Rio’s samba schools parade during Carnival. Designed by renowned Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, the Sambadrome is one of the city’s most important symbols of Carnival culture.

Next, visit the Metropolitan Cathedral of Rio de Janeiro, one of the city’s most distinctive architectural landmarks. Inspired by pre-Columbian pyramid forms, its striking conical design features four impressive stained-glass windows that extend from floor to ceiling and meet in the shape of a cross at the top.

Continue to the bohemian neighborhood of Lapa and visit the colorful Selarón Steps, one of Rio’s most famous works of public art. Created by Chilean-born artist Jorge Selarón, the staircase is covered with thousands of colorful tiles collected from around the world.
